Healing Arts Guild
Welcome to the
Nehalem Bay Healing Arts Guild Web Page. On this Web Site you will
discover
the many Healing Arts professionals who are located in and around the
three village
area of Manzanita, Nehalem, and Wheeler. It is also our hope that once
you have become familiar with us, you will join us in one of the many
activities we offer or spend time with some of our Natural
Healers. Our
list of members include licensed professions in the areas of
Acupuncture, Astrology, Childbirth, Chiropractic, Counseling, Cranial
Sacral, Energy Healing, Message, Naturopathic Medicine, and
Yoga.
We would be happy to accommodate you as you spend a relaxing
week
or weekend on the Oregon Coast, which is itself a
magical
healing place.
Our first
Healing Arts Faire was
on September 16th of last year at the Pine Grove Community Center in
Manzanita. It was a gathering of Healing Artists from our
local
area that was free to the public and donations were gratefully accepted
if they
interacted with any of our Healers during their visit. Most of our
members were present who discussed the benefits and philosophies
of their own Healing
Modality. Four tables for our
Massage Theapists were set up in the back of the room and were busy all
day long. The monies donated went to help a local community member pay
for his expenses as he struggled with cancer. The evening session was
devoted to Healing music of many types. A local African Drumming
Troope, the Tsunami Drummers, shared their African Healing rhythms with
the crowd. This year the Healing Arts Faire will be on September 25th,
2006.
We hope you will be able to join us.
Following our
first Healing Arts Faire, we started a Healing Arts Speaker Series
where
each of our local Healers took turns presenting their individual
Healing Modality. Presentations were on a Friday night, or
Saturday or Sunday during the day. The presentations usually lasted
from two to three hours. During this time, the Healer talked
about the specifics of their Healing Modality, how they became involved
in it and some held a short workshop to demonstrate the general idea of
the Healing Process. This year, the Speaker Series will be on
Saturday nights for an hour and a half. It will consist of a talk
explaining each person's Healing Modality followed by a time where
individuals may sign up for a workshop the next day or individual
appointments. Clicking on the above link takes you a page that will
give you this years Healing Arts Speaker Series. You
may choose to follow a link to our first speaker series.
During the initial months that we were coming together as a group to share our interests in the many natural healing methods that are available, we decided to publish a brochure that listed our members and a brief explanation of their area of expertise. This was done for a number of different reasons. First was to give us a feeling of being unified as a group of individuals whose interests were to explore and share altenative ways of healing our bodies, our minds and our energies. Second was to make the people in the communities around us aware of the many different ways that healing can be approached and practiced by the individual with the help of our many professional practitioners. Last was to reach out beyond our communities to invite people to our wonderful coastal area to enjoy the exquisite environment, the many activities, the three villages, and to explore ways to create a happier, healthier lifestyle for themselves. The brochure can be seen by clicking on the above link and can also be printed. This link will lead you first to a page that lists our members and their modalities and will then give you an opportunity to get to know each person in more detail as each person's link to their personal webpage is provided for you. At the bottom of this page you also find links to Wanderland, our local rainforest sanctuary, a sacred space for individual or small group retreats, and the Center for Contemplative Arts that holds sessions in meditation, yoga, and other workshops and events. |
